NYC
A few weeks ago, I had the chance to take a bite off the Big Apple. I did not want to look "kawawa" so I put together some pieces to make me look fairly decent during my visit to NY.
Big apple, I will be back.

Halloween with friends and good company :)
It is so awesome to be invited to not only one but two Halloween parties this year. I only spent $6 on my costume - the rest came from my wardrobe. Because of my upcoming trip, I could not afford to buy two costumes so I wore the same "outfit" to both occasions.
This is really a fun American tradition that I have come to enjoy.
I could get used to this. Happy Halloween everyone!

Mapping out my free Zumba
I love to dance. I don't care if all my jiggly bits are hanging out. I love dancing. Maybe it be hip-hop, ballroom, jazz, contemporary etc etc. My TV screen has shown its fair share of shows like Dancing with the stars, So you think you can dance and America's next dance crew.
So imagine how excited I was when I heard about this dance aerobic called Zumba in 2008 or was it 2009? I have been to two different classes so far this year, within the last 2 months :D. The ones that I've been to incorporates African dance, Latin Ballroom, Hip hop and Bollywood into the routine. Altogether I think I've been to 6.
As I mentioned previously, I go to the one on Travis AFB but I also go to one in Vacaville. There is either a drop in fee or a punch card fee. So far, the best deal is in TAFB - 16 classes for $50 or $4/ drop in. The rest that I have seen are $50 for 10 or $7/ drop in. There is one in Vallejo that is $60 for $10 - a little steep there, or $10/ drop in.
I went to a free one tonight :) at Vacaville Gold's Gym. Every class is similar in terms of having wonderful Zumba instructors. I enjoy all of them. It's hard to pick which one I like because I like all of them.
I found another free one in Vacaville. Once I've used them all up, I will sign up for a punch card. I just can't do it at the moment because I'm trying to save money for my upcoming trip to NY in three weeks. I will be doing alot of sight seeing and walking. Another motivating factor is they took my blood pressure today at work and it is 181/21. I did not know what I means so I looked it up - basically I'm in the normal range - normal/very good range woohoo! :) I thought the numbers looked lower. And funny, I've only lost two pounds - that's just water weight for sure.
I plan to keep it that way because early this year my doctor prescribed a bp medicine. I stopped taking it in July. I know some might see that as irresponsible but I don't want to live with the side effects of the bp medication - especially that I can't be out in the sun - I love my walks. So three months of not taking it and now this "normal " reading. I have to keep this up. I can feel that my body likes it too. It feels good to sweat and feel that heart beating happily :D and I just love to dance to the Zumba.

Ruffles
I'm not talking about the potato-chip brand.
So they say ruffles add volume but I wore a ruffled skirt anyway. The weather got more bearable, I went to work feeling like a zombie, had very little sleep but thank goodness it's Thursday. The weather finally turned for the better. 100+ degree weather is just annoying. I stepped out of the building yesterday and was shocked to breathe in hot air. I know it's hard to believe coming from someone who grew up in a tropical Island but I honestly can't remember it being this unbearable.
It sure doesn't feel like October around here. It has been the 90s all week. I would wear this outfit again.
Shoes - Ross Stores
Skirt - Torrid
Top - Marshalls

Howdy Yee-haw
I have vision for the composition - golden haybale, pitchfork, red or brown rustic barn in the back with horses off the distance.
But I don't have that resource so I've used the backyard.
I got the shoes, top ,pants and purse from Ross - I love Ross. So it got down to about 75 degrees F yesterday so I busted a flannel "dress", dark wash jeans (with spandex so it "gives") and cognac colored zip up booties. Coincidentally I was meeting friends to have dinner at Texas Roadhouse.
So indeed, this is my attempt to do it "country-western" style. I'm ready to bust out the line dance :D

Day in Napa
The weekend was ripe for a day trip to Napa Valley that day. This was back in August and I am now just posting about it :) We wandered around the nice art gallery of Mondavi Winery, enjoyed the beautiful fountains and gardens of Peju and had a nice picnic at V. Sattui
.
I got this dress from Torrid on clearance (during additional 50% off-c;learance day). The cardigan is from Lane Bryant, shoes are from The Avenue and the bag is from a "tiangge" in Manila's Greenhills.
